The PSP is the World Cup, it could be the World Cup circuit.

Read more here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIS_Alpine_Ski_World_Cup

There are winners at each circuit, and there is an overall World Cup winner. But having every event be a part of the "Paintball World Cup" means there isn't that odd instance of a team winning the World Cup and losing (or winning the season regardless of past results).

Anyway, they should put their best foot forward -- make every event part of the PSP World Cup circuit. Then you don't have to end up with lame ass names like Omaha City Showdown or whatever... and every city you go to is happy to host the "Paintball World Cup"anonachrisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3804718502406028481.post-26391072142387511962010-03-11T11:31:34.593-05:002010-03-11T11:31:34.593-05:00Thanks, David. First, the transition needs to be accomplished with the basic pieces and players in place and second, that transition needs to lead to a new--and viable--operational model. Nothing to it.Baca Locohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13014510414015288907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3804718502406028481.post-16440957110616757312010-03-10T16:48:07.185-05:002010-03-10T16:48:07.185-05:00I always wondered why the PSP couldn't be a si...I always wondered why the PSP couldn't be a single event, like the SuperBowl and only sanctions localized events the rest of the year.

To push forward on David's comment (and my dream for the past x years):
Divide the US in 4 zones (NW, NE, SWQ, SE or else), play 3 events during the season to qualify for the gianormous World Cup in Florida (or elsewhere, but I kinda like FLA).
That way, the big companies travel only once/year (saves $$$) and make their local distributors work locally (happy campers).
Send the Pro (the real ones) to do 8 events (2 per zone). Since the big corps saved so much on travel, they can afford extra support to their Pro team.
Local kids are happy to see the Pros, happy to spend less and happy to not miss school as much (remember: Stay in school! Playing Paintball doesn't pay your bills!)
PSP doesn't haul as much equipment and staff/refs around the country (saves $$$)

Btw, PSP sanctioned events would be high quality events, just a mini localized version of what we know.
And you can start the controversy about East coast/West coast.. who is better? who blows? since they won't meet 'til the end...

Am I totally delusional or is that feasible?
I bet I missed something big that forbid my dream to become reality... ;o)Henoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3804718502406028481.post-33729913015595564122010-03-10T15:47:37.586-05:002010-03-10T15:47:37.586-05:00A smaller more streamlined psp seams to be the pla...A smaller more streamlined psp seams to be the plan. I wouldn't be surprised, once the psp has affiliate leagues all over the US to see them drop the lower divisions from national play (D4, D3) so that regional series host D5-D3 events and the traveling national league will be home to D2-Pro.

This does two things, Allows the PSP to function quickly and efficiently at events. AND gives large amounts of revenue and teams to build regional events <- and when this happens paintball fields will be able to function a little further from the imaginary bankruptcy line that consistently haunts local fields now.SimplyComplexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17053888483811349136noreply@blogger.com
