Dallas Countdown 2014

Starting in the next week or so VFTD will do it's very own pro division pre-season team-by-team analysis. It will not include every team playing pro in 2014 as there are the new teams coming plus a couple of others I simply am not familiar enough with to offer an educated analysis. that being said it still leaves 14 or 15 teams to cover. VFTD will not be telling you how wonderful every team is or how much potential the players have or how great they used to be or any of the usual (and lame) banalities. There will be no rainbows or daffodils. At the same time my objective isn't to tear players or teams down, it is to analyse the teams and how they play the game. Since I have no particular order in mind I figured y'all could decide for me. Figure you've got about 5 or 6 days tops to express yourself in comments. Name the team or teams you'd like to read about or are your favs and simple raw numbers will take the day. If I get more calls for say XSV, than any other team, they'll be first up. Odds are I won't be able to do more than a couple teams a week so we could run out of time. Stuff the ballot box or get your friends to back your pick--doesn't matter to me. Just don't wait too long.

XSV would be an awesome pick. What's Telford and Brown going to do? And how will not havingTaylor work for them?

I'd like a real asessment of Damage, for once...

My first pick would be the Ironmen, do you think the merger will work out better for the Ironmen than what they had before? Do you think Shane Pestana will bring some more wins to the team?
After that first one my order of interest is:
Impact
Heat
Art Chaos
Infamous
XFactor
Russian Legion
187
CEP
XSV
Topgun
Vicious
Damage
Dynasty

All the talk so far around the web is all Impact and Heat. Time to take a look at other teams :P

In order and a little on why:

Infamous- What will it take for them to peak and finally start winning events with a roster that has stayed relatively the same.

Damage- I feel that they are still great contenders to win every event but do they have the same drive and motivation from 2-3 years ago to dominate and will Jason Wheeler be another Rabackoff/Stanczak that cannot seem to find their place in such a tight group.

Heat- Will the recent pickups be able to counter the Russians leaving and how will Thomas Taylor perform.

X-Factor- What will it take to stay on top through next season and how will the addition of Kovar help the team.

Impact- Will the idea of bringing in younger players such as Park and Leval help immediately or are they in it for the long run?

Dynasty- What will it take for them to continue to do as well as they have been and build on that to win every tournament.

Vicious- Will this be the year everyone settles in under Martinez and stays a competitive Champions team?

Texas Storm- Will they continue to build on a successful first year in the pro division and become a dominant team in the Champions?

Art Chaos- Will they live up to the hype?

XSV/Red Legion- What will we see roster wise from these two teams. Will we see mergers from their respective divisional teams to replace lost players and add new blood?

187 Crew- Is their welcome party over in the pro division? Is this the year they have to perform or disband?

Aftershock/CEP/Thunder- What will it take for them to start winning?

Boom/ VCK- What are the expectations for these two teams?

Just go in order of final PSP season standings from 2013.

An idea for format - do it similar to a Power rankings that analysts do for NHL, NBA or any of the other major sports leagues...
Breakdown the team's 2013 season
Breakdown their off season changes
Breakdown your thoughts on how they'll perform in 2014.

Since you're unlikely to answer the many many questions here, I'd love to just see how you break down the following teams (in order):
Aftershock
Russian Legion
Damage
XSV
Infamous
Ironmen/Royalty amalgamation
Houston Heat

Looking forward to reading these already!

Jesters are no longer Challengers so out of the running.

Sorry Dave but I'm pretty sure I've never seen either BOOM or Red Storm.

I think this would be a great order:

Damage
Heat
Vicious
X-Factor
Infamous

maybe through Texas Storm in there if you know them

How about you don't do anything on the top four. Wait until you see how they do and then do a "Did they spend too much on their players?" (If they fail)

Do it on the bottom 6 chances to succeed which would be:

Ironmen
XFactor
Infamous
Shock
Vicious
Storm

Art Chaos
Heat
Impact
Ironmen

^Teams with the newest "MIX" of players

They have experienced major deletions/additions and/or are competing as a full unit for the first time in the PSP

I must admit, normally I wouldn't be too interested in these squads, but the recent upheaval makes me curious.
