For Future Reference When Making Predictions

The first thing to do is find out what the brackets are, d'oh! I was reminded as I took a look at the pre-Cup predictions thread over on PBN. I was curious to see if anyone picked X-Factor to win, place or show and noticed, once again, that at least half of the predictions were impossible. Here's a hint. You can't have three teams from one bracket in the final four. It doesn't work that way. I know the four teams you picked are your four favorites but it doesn't matter. Remember, two go through. Two (and 2 only) from each bracket make the semis. It doesn't take a rocket scientist people.

So, what I'm getting from this is not enough people picked X-Factor for your liking?

Not at all. I'm surprised there were any at all.
My point was simply that any sensible prediction needs to account for the rules of the game. Yet dozens of the PBN thread's predictions included literally impossible groups.
Besides, I had nothing else for today.

This is rather "no duh" to me. Paintball doesnt have "fans", 98% of the user base on pbn doesnt have accurate, up-to-date information about events, and in general, how the sport covers events suck. I'm curious to see how long fantasy holds the interest, we all saw how long pbn pursuit lasted.

PBN what?

The difference between Pursuit and fantasy is there's no end goal to the game. What do you get? How do you win? Who are you competing against, and how effective are the "leaderboards"?

Fantasy had that. It was simple enough to pick up for the "casual" paintball person but difficult enough to cause the more than casual paintball person to grind over numbers, thoughts, brackets, matchups, stats, etc for a few hours before solidifying their lineup. Coach, what more, if anything, do you want to see in the Fantasy offering?

Top winners in Fantasy were guys who were heavy with X-Factor players. Who does that ;)

To get the ball rolling I think what they did was terrific but I'm not sure it will last. When it's no longer shiny and new it may not have the same appeal and Dye probably won't keep giving away a big prize package every time and even if they do 1 package is going to seem like playing the lottery eventually.
Maybe continue to have an overall winner but also include class winners. Fantasy teams made from 1 thru 8 different teams. One of those class winners will turn out to be the overall as well and perhaps participating vendors can redeem PBA Fantasy Bux for some of discount on purchases.
And to keep the on site folks actively interested in the vendors have a Friday and Saturday game where you pick the highest scoring player of the day and/or team of the day and win some Fantasy Bux to go shopping with at the vendor of your choice.
