The NXL Game

A fun little guessing game. The winner will receive a cherished no prize and e-gold star. (They are too real.)
Here's the game:
Guess which team(s) will leave the NXL after the 2008 season. And who will replace them in 2009. Extra credit tie breaker: give reasons for departure and explain how the new team got the inside track on the spot.
The tie breaker is important since the odds of more than one correct guess is pretty high given there's only 12 teams. All eligible guesses become the property of 'View' and must pre-date any announcement of changes within the NXL. Duh.
And no, Mr. Cleverpants, I don't know anything (much) that you don't know but it hardly seems a stretch, does it? Besides, it'll be fun. C'mon.

Easy:
Sergey will finally say, "Screw this," (in Russian of course) and decide to use all the money he's been pissing away in the NXL to create his own pro league. The first event will only have the Dogs, Dynasty of course, and an "all-star" team that Planet will cobble together out of old burnt-out players from the past, and Marcus Nielson, just to see how it goes.

The format will be similar to X-Ball except there will be six players on the slightly wider field which will have a big ziggurat-type structure in the middle - you know, like in the old American Gladiators? Anyway, it's for players to try to race to the top for a distinct advantage. OK, so we might have to lengthen the field as well - anyway though, how awesome would it be to watch guys get bunkered at the top and then roll out of control down the soft steps?

Anyway, by the end of the season the entirety of the NXL, except, yes, the All Americans will have made the move to the Z-Ball league.

And did I mention the Z-Ball pits? They'd be nicer. Oh yeah, and the entire reffing crew would be imported from Russia, so hissy fits and standard bad behavior would quickly become a thing of the past, as the Z-Ball staff might rough you up... while calling you bad names you won't be able to understand.

I'd love to reveal my source here, but you're just going to have to trust me on this one.

Five Finger Bullet? That was a Sonny Chiba flick wasn't it? Anyway, there has been some talk that Sergey is unhappy so it's conceivable but I think they may need to tweak that format. Maybe add a tunnel under the ziggy where competitors run the guantlet?

Avalanche will call the quits in 2008 from the X-ball format (again), to much money getting spent not near the sucess they should be at.
They'll be replaced by the RNT allstarz in 2009, kind of a "ultimate/ltz" revival experience in the league.
JJ.

I'm with you on the first half but I see a different replacement.
