Burning Question(s)

How many defections from the locked divisions will it take to cripple the Millennium?

(Rumor has it upwards of 8 [of 28] SPL may bail. They are Blackout Charleroi - Dornbirn Daltons - Notorious London - Vienna United - Influence Montpelier - Sucy PAC ultimate - Duesseldorf Reckless - Hellwood Paris. There are also a few D1 names being bandied about.)

I have heard similar for some of these teams. 4 of these teams listed were relegated to D1 though at the end of last season - they may play in that division? I assume that the promoted teams in D1 will now play in SPl in their place, unless some of those have dropped out also?

Could be but both SPL & D1 had attrition last year too going from 32 teams (35 for D1 counting the reffing teams) to 28 and 27. Things haen't improved particularly and the MS has done little in response.

Is this downfall in teams just Euro based or are the USA leagues down as well?

It's not just a Euro based phenomenon. The economy has had and will continue to have an impact. 7-man was in decline (free fall) by some estimations prior to the current economy and it's difficult (nigh on impossible) to make any supportable case for how much is the economy, how much is the claimed dwindling grassroots player base, rule changes, demographics & independent income, etc.
That said the MS is a bit different in that their recent history is one of antagonizing their participating teams. Anyway you shake it it's not good and one reason the affiliates program is crucial.
