Not in the Paintball News

I'm bored. Check that. Actually I'm lazy. I have a list of stuff needs doing and I'm desperately (in a very laconic sorta way) doing my best to avoid tackling that list. Which reminds me, the NPPL's DC Open is coming up this weekend including their All*Star bash. (Question: How is voting for a NPPL All*Star like voting for politicians? Answer: The security of the secret ballot is suspect and you always end up with somebody you didn't want. Or is that just me?) By the numbers this year's DC may set an attendance record despite weak numbers in D2 and the general failure of the NPPL's Race 2 variant. On the other hand D1 has been (relatively) packed this year and I suspect it may have something to do with the perception there are no dominant teams and (besides the Pros) only D1 plays 7-man Race 2. The season standings are a jumble and this weekend's event will help sort out the teams in the hunt for the series title that will be won (or lost) in Vegas in October.
Didja notice the NPPL did some "interviews" recently they posted on their website? It's so cute that they're trying to be just like PBAccess. If only they had a webcast.
Surprise surprise there are reports out that Impact will be playing PSP World Cup. (At least Bart is convinced they'll be there.) If true you can expect XSV to get their chance too and if that were to happen odds are the PSP would accept a third team to balance the divisions given that almost any change in the number of teams is likely to push the event to four days anyway.
Have I mentioned the MS lately? No? Good. The Millennium Series is the Mike Tyson of major league tournament paintball. Let that sink in slowly. You'll get it in a minute or three.

The MS's life is a waste and they want to become a missionary?

I was thinking along the lines of the MS will bite your ear off if you start beating them.

Be careful PSP and PBA!

I was actually thinking they were once everybody's darling until they started to slip then everyone realized they were whackadoodle nuts.

A missionary? To whom? Cannibals?

Oh, I was thinking it was that the MS and Tyson has a thing for date rape.

I was thinking that regular heavyweight boxing has gone the way of the dinosaur, with Mike Tyson being the last big name in an aging format. MMA is the now, unfortunately (I was a big boxing fan and don't watch MMA)
Its also the reason the US failed in the ring during the Olympics - no-ones taking up regular boxing anymore.

So let's recap...

The MS is a true believer in their product and wants to go around the world enlisting others to follow them (amassing power and influence in the process)

The MS is rash and will get nasty with you if you start to get an edge on them.

The MS is just crazy irrational.

The MS will hurt others who trust them in the process of seeking their own self-interest (while being too stupid to recognize the bigger picture that they are actually hurting their own interests as they pursue their lusts)

And the MS is a once great, washed up, has-been that is good for headlines based on feats of days-gone-by but no longer really relevant.

Wow! That's a pretty good set of analogies you've got going on here!

The MS will have a guest appearance in Hangover 3. The guys wake up the next day to discover that they played in the Bitburg tourney. They would have won, but the refs made bad calls against them because they were Americans and tripping on drugs.

The MS used to be tough, but then they became muslims, started a family, and tried to live a normal life, but then ran out of cash due to rape-suits, and had to start courting cameo movie roles and reality TV roles to make ends meet?

AS far as i remember, you do not like Mr Richards a lot of things in Europe, including Mustard and the size of european beds apparently too small.

You should stop to eat american mustard. I am sure you will fit in an European Bed....

I suppose this is also NOT in the paintball news either...

Sorry to be OT, but it does make for a funny read, as does the comments.

The French guy above appears to be calling you 'fat'
It's a pretty sweet comeback from the MS to be fair. Those guys are on the ball.

the "attendance record" for this weekend's event, excluding the pros ( i don't count the pros because they are going to be there irregardless of anything else going on ) there are 54 teams plus 3 pump. I think only counting the divisional teams is a much better indicator of what's going on success wise.

also - i'd like to see Impact come back into the PSP fold. They were generally an exciting team to watch.

Looks like NPPL will have 12 more teams this year than last year, although 14 teams are in the D4 7-man division that didn't exist last year.

PSP MAO had 130 teams.

To Euro Anon
Lost in translation, mon ami. Euro mustard-A-OK. French mayonnaise--magnifique! Accomodations as organized by the MS--not so great, including tiny beds. That doesn't mean I haven't enjoyed some decent beds in Euroland, just never at the MS's recommendation.

With NPPL team count it's best to wait until after or you see a schedule for an accurate team count but however you calculate it it would appear there was an uptick this year.
