Another Cynical VFTD Game

If one game is good two gotta be twice as much fun, right?
This one's harder but I got faith in y'all. Here's the deal: predict the Vegas results for standardizing competitive paintball.
Pick the format.
Pick ROF (rate of fire).
Pick the number of divisions of play and how many will be locked or closed, if any.
Will there be sponsor restrictions on gear or gun use on the field of play? (Yes / N0)
Tie-breaker: predict any significant rule changes. Alternate tie-breaker: will player classification also be standardized (forcing Eurokids to compete over here in same division they compete in over there.)

Play early, play often.

Format- Will be both through out divisions (pro will be xball lite/cpl if that was the ?)
ROF- 13.3
# Of Divisions- D3, D2,Open, Semi Pro (locked), Pro (locked)
Restrictions- 100% yes
Rule Change- There will be changes no clue what
Player Classification- I can only pray that this is not true for the sake of the Euro's and my conspiracy of Chris Raehl taking over the world.

Pick the format. race to 5

Pick ROF (rate of fire). 12

Pick the number of divisions of play rule and how many will be locked or closed, if any.....
there will be d4 5 man, d3 5 man, d3 xball light that is ms rules,d2 ms series rules, d1 locked ms series rules, pro ms series rules. It will all be a race to 5 with 12 bps

Will there be sponsor restrictions on gear or gun use on the field of play? the answer is yes and no if it will be for the guns only so if you don't play with an sp, dye, or eclipse gun you best be looking. The funny thing is that dye has been for sale for the last year and it still is. ;)

Tie-breaker: predict any significant rule changes. Alternate tie-breaker: will player classification also be standardized (forcing Eurokids to compete over here in same division they compete in over there) Yes Chris Reahl is going to rule the world.

and to answer the other blog we will see the unification of pro paintball this year there will be 6 US events and 10 european events with the reincarnation of the wps ranking and your bottom 2 events being dropped allowing teams to skip 2 events. Thus allowing for the teams like Ironmen and dynasty to play all 10 events and teams like rage to play 6 and still look good. The other events will be 3 xball light, 3 7 man, and 3/4 euro xball light. It will happen wait and see. When the economy turns and if there is still paintball then we can have 2-3 leages and fight over what is best but untill then we to just go with what something that makes paintball better.

Pick the format. - Race to 7
Pick ROF - 12.2
Pick the number of divisions of play and how many will be locked or closed, if any. D3, D2, D1, semi-pro, pro. But pro and semi will be locked. Possibly D1, but doubt it.
Will there be sponsor restrictions on gear or gun use on the field of play? N0, personally it would just be another hassel, but perhaps only one Gun manufactor woud only be allowed to tech guns, thus almost forcing people to use their type of guns if they want theeir gun teched???( just an idea, don't stone me)
Tie-breaker: Rules Changes: Maybe lose the clock, Win by two, until it reaches like 9-9, then it goes to one on ones! :)
Alternate tie-breaker: Eurokids will be able to play whatever division they want, always.

Pick the format.
X-Ball Race to Five

Pick ROF
do away with ramping

Pick the number of divisions of play and how many will be locked or closed, if any.
D4, D3, D2, D1/Semi-Pro, Pro.
Semi Pro and Pro should be locked, but not immediately

Will there be sponsor restrictions on gear or gun use on the field of play?
Hope not, for the sake of manufacturers.

Tie-breaker:
I am sure there will be major rule changes, but who knows what.

Alternate tie-breaker: will player classification also be standardized.
It should be standardized, in order to try and unify the sport worldwide.

>Pick the format.

5 man race to 5 in 5 minutes! (clock stops in between each point) The PSP 5 for 5 deal!

>Pick ROF (rate of fire).

1bps less than last year

>Pick the number of divisions of play and how >many will be locked or closed, if any.

Pro, Semi Pro, D1, D2, D3. Pro and Semi Pro may have different names.

>Will there be sponsor restrictions on gear >or gun use on the field of play? (Yes / N0)

Yes, but naturally it will only be the type of restrictions the big 3 care about. i.e. it will only protect core products they make and ignore ones they don't.

>Tie-breaker: predict any significant rule >changes.

Roster sizes will be decreased. Time limits decreased. Scores decreased. And a strict limit on the number of 10 round tubes and 12gram cartridges each player can carry on the field will be enforced.

>Alternate tie-breaker: will player >classification also be standardized (forcing >Eurokids to compete over here in same >division they compete in over there.)

This would make perfect sense so I'm assuming "no", and rather some variation will be applied that will require a player to take the square root of the derivative of their classification and multiply it by the number of years they have been playing paintball in order to find their eligibility.

Okay Chris
The big question--do entries go up, stay the same or go down?

Christian said...

Greedy Capitalist:
They go up because we already know we are faced with a limited pool of customers in these down times so let's soak them for the "luxury" (that is what it is) of playing paintball.

Traditionalist:
They should stay the same because doing anything else would be too risky.

Greedy Player:
They go down because we all know the leagues make way too much money and all the prizes are donated and what-not and like 200 teams attended the last event and that's close to $1billion dollars.

Since I've waffled and not really put my own opinion down, I'll say prices should go up moderately (8%?) for the vendors (and I am one!). Prices and prizes should go down for the pros - but not proportionally. I think pro prices should be a little less, and pro prices more-so less. Divisional prices should probably stay the same, but that's assuming they are already somewhat high, and to be honest I don't know what they are and can't possibly be bothered with looking at them.

Vendor prices should only go up if the PSP can pull off my master plan which I have entrusted with only 2 individuals in the Western Hemisphere.

ps - anyone who thinks "more teams will show up if they are charged less" is nuts. Witness the Steve Davidson extravaganza a few years back with free entry no one showed up to.

But even more so, the obstacles to getting a team in the PSP is not so much money but:
time
commitment
talent
know-how (how many emails does Keely get with teams asking what they need to do to play)
money

Maybe even in that order...
