Last Mag Standing

Is it APG's world and we're just living in it? How far removed are we from the next feature article on dealing with snake bite and a pictorial of scenario "tanks"?
Time for a new game that none of you slackers will play. In fact, it's two games in one.
First game is predicting next deadtree mag to do the el foldo (or move exclusively into cyberspace) and give a month and year. (And, no, I don't have a morbid fascination with the demise of others. I'm just playing shuffleboard on the deck of the Titanic whistling a happy tune. C'mon, join me, it's fun!)
Second game is predicting which paintball website will be the first to suffer the Deathstar's fate and cease to be a force. [*] (PBStar doesn't count, btw.) Same rules apply. Only commercial websites are eligible.
What do the two games have in common?
Advertising revenue. Or more precisely, the lack thereof in the case of the "winners."
Winners will receive the coveted VFTD e-prize and a gold embossed certificate recognizing your status as yet another paintball no-lifer.

[*] Yes, another terrible joke. Get used to it. Expect it. Enjoy.

UPDATE: Thanks to the link and promo from the kids at PBReserve I'll keep this post at the top of the stack for a few days. Play the game, losers.

PB2x (mag and website) will run as long as Pacific Paintball is still trying to make something of the sport. APG has the newbie audience best for selling stuff, so they'll be the last to lose out on ad dollars. Faceful has the best product and will survive on the international distribution to areas where print still means something.

So Paintball Sports is next, to fold Jan or Feb, with the last issue dated March or April.

For websites, paintball.com will be around in some form until the sport is dead just because of the domain name, and PbNation has grown enough beyond paintball to be safe in the near term. So our winner there is 68caliber.com, which will be dead as soon as Davidson gets bored.

Anon,
Thanks for playing and as a little extra reward from me to you I won't out ya. ;-)

I don't know. Certainly viable choices. Good luck.
Although, Rich Telford's World of Paintball has been getting thinner lately, like an Olson twin back on the crack pipe. And they dropped their cover price too, didn't they? Are they published in Euroland or over here? Gotta wonder about shipping and currency volatility.

Watch for Splat Magazine to fold after the first of the year. Chris Iquinta has already begun work with another major mag, and if you haven't noticed already, the ad to page ratio is less than 1 in 4.5.

After removing the splat kids (team) sponsors from the list, the ad count is like 1 in 10. RIP Splat Magazine, at least you didn't have to refund any subscriptions.

Without a complete prediction including month and year you ain't eligible for your e-prize(s) and, you know, it's not like they grow on trees.

I think I hold some ground since I once worked for nearly every mag at one time or another. I really miss PGi though, with their good pay and most importantly having a come on time. Splat I'd take of the list since they are all on line and we all know nobody reads that. Paintball Sports has pretty much always been a joke while APG has been a shrinking for many years. PB2X as much as they do, they haven't made a profit in several years. I can't say who's next, but I'll guess who will be last and that might be FaceFull, those Frenchy's have to much pride to fold before Americans.
Well that's what I have to say about.
Also thanks to all the U.S mags for NOT returning my emails.
