I'ma be honest with y'all right from the git go. There ain't no poll, least not like you're used to. And this not exactly a poll is gonna require a bit more effort than I have come to expect from most of you lazy slackers. Nevertheless, it could be lots of fun if'n you can gather up the gumption to participate. (Is the homespun, backwoods thing working for you at all? I reckon not.)
Here's the deal. NPPL 3.0 (the league formerly known as the USPL) is contemplating, in cooperation with Pev's, the establishment of a Paintball Hall of Fame. The details remain sketchy--which works in our favor--since my idea is to collect your nominees for admittance to such a Paintball Hall of Fame. (The only restriction I will place on your nominees is that they have a connection to competitive paintball in one way or another.)
You may nominate as many people as you like and a brief reason why wouldn't be out of place as I suspect there will be peeps nominated that some of our readers have never heard of.
Let the nomination process begin!
UPDATE: Next week's The Monday Poll will take a selection of the top nominees and VFTD readers can vote for their first class of the PB Hall of Fame.

Hmm... Good question. Here's my (by no means exhaustive) list:
Tom Kaye - Automag, HPA, Swarm, smartest person in paintball, period.
Bob Long - Ironmen, Intimidator, one of the greatest player/coach/promoter
Dave Youngblood - DYE, Ironmen, he wore suits while playing
Tom Cole - Bad Company, NPPL, UWL
Bill and Adam Gardner - Smart parts, AAs
Rocky Cagnoni - Loads of teams, one of the first "recognizable" stars in the airball format
This is the top of my list... many more deserve credit, but that's who immediately comes to to my mind.
^His list, plus:
Gary Noblet
Spud Jackson
Ron Kilbourn
Robbo Pete Robinson
Renick Miller
Charles Gaines, Hayes Noel & Bob Gurnsey
Bud Orr
Fred Schultz
Charles Nelson
Jerry Braun
Steve Davidson
Tom Kaye- Nitrogen/Compressed air introduction to pball. set a standard for quality. and I'm sure much more contribution. gave William Shatner his own custom X-mag.
Bob Long- Intimidator. Creator of the first luxurious guns, basically introduced "bouncing" to the common tournament scene.
Daniel Holliday- influenced paintball for a long time... namely bonus balling and playing mean.
the 2002 Dynasty team- for absolute dominance.
the 2005 XSV team- for standing up to dynasty.
Hostile Kids - for the only attempt at a paintball "culture." also turned paintball into a fashion conscience sport.
Chris Lasoya- created the "superstar," same goes for Oliver Lang, really. I'm sure there were superstars before them. but these guys were and are big names.
and that angel guy who created hyperball. probably more props to this man for helping the switch to electro-pneumatic paintball guns.
Angel Fragoza, recently retired, best player of the past ten years.
Chad,
Jim Drew AKA Drew Templeton of Wicked Air Sports created bouncing AKA debounce. Which was AKA the cheating guns era or AKA paintballs version of the steroid era.
Glenn Palmer inventor of the auto-cocking paintgun.
John Rice inventor of the Angel.
Dave Youngblood for building an empire starting with a 10" & 12" stainless steel barrel.
Them stoners who started P8nt magazine, all 20 or 21 issues of it.
John Amodea for giving media coverage to the up and comers in the sport.
All of the core players for Lockout for being one of the first teams to embody sacrifice for the sport.
Jeremy Salm for making the last world cup in a cow pasture one of the most memorable.
My list:
nobody. dont waste your money on buying a building, getting pictures or anything. Not the right time.
BBBAAAAPPPPPP! No buzzkills allowed. Neither the NPPL or Pev are gonna bust open a piggy bank on this dealio--noe lighten up and get with the program.
Jerry Braun
Lorant Hamet - for SupAirBall
RL founder - Sergey Leontiev
RL guys - Mishka Knyazev, Alex Berdnikov
Ged Green
Rocky Cagnoni
Chris Lasoya
Dave Youngblood
Marty Bush
Oliver lang
Rich Telford
Matty Marshall
Rennick Miller
Rocky Knuth
Alex Fraige
Chuck Hendsch
Ron Kilbourne
Lane Wright
Billy & Adam
Bud Orr
Tom Kaye
Keely Watson
Travis Lemanski
Brian Fow
Davey Williamson
ps. There's absolutely no way jerry braun makes it in. How do you give props to someone who held the game back for so long?
Braun created the World Cup...which seemed to me like a reasonable reason. He did plenty to hold back the game, too...maybe that cancels out his contribution.
I don't think any current players should be on the list.
I think Missy Q's list is pretty darn good...
Rocky Cagnoni
Dave Youngblood
Marty Bush
Matty Marshall
Rennick Miller
Chuck Hendsch
Ron Kilbourne
Lane Wright
Billy & Adam
Bud Orr
Tom Kaye
Keely Watson
I would stipulate that a Hall of Fame should require PLAYING at the top level of the game for the appropriate time period for that player.
Given that stipulation, I'm woefully unqualified to nominate anybody.
I don't think you need to have played a sport at the highest level to recognize excellence. A hardcore fan that has never played a sport can see the difference between excellence and mediocracy, although I'm not sure paintball has any long-term hardcore fans.
As an aside, is this proposed Paintball Hall of Fame going to be just a Competitive Paintball Hall of Fame? Or will there be room for some of the pioneers who helped build the industry, but weren't necesarily that interested in bulding a new competitive sport.
How can everybody forget Aaron Carter . he just about had all to do with many of the first things of paintball and most DYE products !!!
Ledz and Jules of planet eclipse through sheer dedication in creating one of the biggest and best companies in the paintball industry and supporting many events and paintball causes through out the world.
Let's not forget the "Mau Mau" brothers, Tommy, Greg and Richie, those brothers were among the top of the sport for several years.
Poopy (Todd Adamson) is also another that should get mention, as well as Mike Peverill...lol just kidding, I wanted to mention his name before he showed up and nominated himself!
