Calling Matty Marshall

Matty, you gotta help me out. As the undisputed Voice of Paintball you have a responsibility. It's a lexical responsibility. I didn't realize it until this morning so please don't take this as criticism. More like begging. When I heard some French guy going on and on doing commentary on the Paris Open and the only English involved was "feast" and "feasting" I knew there was a problem. A feast here, a feast there. It's all good. And I can appreciate the difficulty in trying to keep the commentary fresh but every expression you use is gonna get repeated a thousand fold. Kinda like the agg epidemic. Harmless enough at first until it hits some unexpected critical mass and --boom--we're screwed and there's little agglets overrunning fields around the country like rabbits. All I'm asking, Matty, is that you expand the paintball lingo lexicon. Make it up on the fly. Try different stuff out. Just go for it. Thanks.

Also, stop say "kill" and "die."

Oh, wait, we don't care about that anymore.

So let me get this strait... Matty is suppose to sit up in a tower for two days in a row 8-9 hr days none stop commenting and not use the same Adjective more than twice... Sounds to me like you guys are nitpicking a bit.

Whoa, Patrick. Slow down and try reading the post with a little context and humor.

you make a good point baca...im proud of the webcast.it is a sound approach that is wide open and has unlimited possibilities. finally, the psp is on solid ground about how to build its own entertainment network. no outrageous tv production cost, not owing to someone elses 'dollars' and nothing else matters mentality, nor the pressure of competing against much more mainstream shows for a marketshare.
Im not saying its cheap, it does cost.. but its a way better dollar value AND it gives the psp time to really hone the presentation and format. Which brings me to matty. i dont know him personally, but hes doing a really good job and he will get better. less repetitive, more descriptive, and insightful. i think a little better diversity of guest analyst (there may be a reason why thats not doable, im not sure)would be good. On the other hand giving the same guys a lot of reps will help them do a better job also. The Lucian segments have loads of potential, the sideline interviews are a great idea. The stats are such good info. in the end, its one of my favorite things to checkout (you can even garner a little scouting intel from it) once we're back from the tournaments. call it 'feasting' on paintball videos if you like, matty. .. just keep pushing the envelope and inspiring paintball to get better everyday.

Actually Patrick, that's exactly what we're saying. Matty should never repeat himself. Maybe he could, for example, say "Man, Taylor is really gorging himself", or "stuffing his face" or "packing on the pounds" or "having triple-helpings at the Vicious buffet", or "isn't leaving any leftovers" or "taking down thanksgiving dinner" or "devouring the D-side" (oo, alliteration!) or ... well, you get the idea.

(Yes, I'm just messing with you. "Feasting" has become a Matty tradeword and tradewords are good. Brand consistency n'stuff. Like Madden saying "BOOM!")

I think Matty should do random games in Esperanto.

Paul, I think your post is hilarious... really I get it. I should of been clear, I was making a comment on the comments. I was just trying to say Matty does have a hard job. It will come, you will see.

We need to get Raehl up in the both.

Anyone who thinks it's easy should try it.

In fact, lets get the Loco up into the hot-box and grill him for an hour or two...

I'll plead the fifth; preferably Don Julio but Wild Turkey will do in a pinch. After that I'll say pretty much whatever you like.

Patrick
All good. I think everyone understands that Matty does a terrific job.
Whatever you do though keep Faction away from a mike because I can guarantee it'll take less than two minutes for him to start arguing one point or another--even if it's with himself.

Don
English, dammit, Don, English. It's the universal language of business and paintball. And that's in Wikipedia so it must be true.
