The Monday Poll

This week's poll isn't so much about paintball as it is about satisfying my curiosity. The subject is VFTD and the stuff posted. I'm curious about which features or sorts of subjects are of the most interest to you lazy slackers out there. Honestly the results are unlikely to make a big difference as I post about what I'm interested in--what else am I gonna do?--try to pander to the whims of you lot?--I don't think so. The place where the results might matter is in frequency of certain kinds of posts or even dropping a feature or two depending on how much I like doing it. If I'm having a good time with something then you can skip a day every once in a while and it won't hurt my feelings. The options run from the general to the specific and once again include the (dreaded) "Other." And (once again) if you pick other please take a minute to comment on what you had in mind in the comments section. (I know, it's probably a futile request, and some comedian will click on other 'cus it's so damned funny, but I am the eternal optimist. Yeah, right.) Anyway, for all those times you didn't bother to click on a reax option and didn't post a comment when you were thinking about it take a second (or two) and cast a vote.

The Monday Poll in Review
I need to come up with a poll topic that will prove divisive and get you lot voting. It seems that once again the early trend was united and consistent. 2 of every 3 votes didn't think the change of venue would have any real effect on World Cup and the bulk of the votes that thought it would be a matter of perception more than reality for the crowd who have never been to a non-Disney WC. Otherwise a remarkably small group expressed any concern over the change with 8% claiming they would be willing to pay more in order to keep Cup at Disney. I'm not sure how much stock to put in those votes as it isn't going to happen or be a real option but it was interesting that most of the will pay more votes were for the larger amount. Even so, I think it's informative that so few chose any of the "yes" options when it would have been an easy way to express real displeasure at the venue change. At least from the not-quite-so-lazy-a-slacker voting group at VFTD the PSP doesn't have anything to worry about.
I also think this requires a follow-up poll after the fact to see what peeps thought of the actual change of venue. Hmm.

VFTD kicks ass. Independant un-influenced views are hard to find these days.
I think you should charge (not me, obviously)and actually be able to make money from it. Then you should pay out 'scoop-fee's' where if someone were to bring you news and you got the scoop - they get $50 or something like that.
Plus - you get $50 of factions money...
he'd hate it, but he'd have to pay, no way he could bite his tongue.

This website is much better than any other industry-views oriented site. The only other one I can really think of that is similar is the Nissan report. But that guy pretends to be cheeky making his whole site about him, when he's really just making his whole site about him. It doesn't work for me...

Your site on the other hand is from the get go, admittedly about your views and the analysis is always thought provoking. So I enjoy it. Plus it's fun to read something by someone who really doesn't care about "Selling" something, isn't interested in tons of free swag by kisssing up to angel or draxxus or eclipse. Been there done that, thrown away the free tshirts years ago... now it's just fun to BS about paintball industry, motives, possibilities, etc.

I dunno, it seems like you are losing your edge. When you first started, you were really rocking, and then, it was as if you over reached your self too early. It kind of reminds me of a team I knew of that started off really well, and then, due to a fluke of fate a pro spot came up and the team owner could not help himself despite the best counsel of his team. They flamed out. Funny thing was, the only way the owner could play on the team was if he owned it. (imo)

I come here because the posters seem to not be complete morons. It also keeps me somewhat tuned in to the tourney side of paintball, which, even though I make my living in the paintball industry, I admittedly know very little about. But tourney paintball is a distant cousin to recreational paintball (think Cousin It), so it still interests me. Also, I really need tourney paintball to stick aroud and flourish, so I have somewhere to send those that want to shoot high volumes of paintballs and keep them away from my rec field ;).

I think you have a lot of intelligent people that read your blog and Baca dueling with Raehl is always good for a smirk. Both obviously intelligent people with differing points of view on tournament ball and the industry. Fun stuff.

Thanks, Missy, but don't you have some more posting to do at last week's Monday Poll post? Or is this a particularly long weekend? :-)

some kind of page error prevented me from educating people further. I did try though.
